Greetings, gentlebeings.

There's no need for me to convince any of you that spam is the bane of
everybody's existence: business owners, marketers, newsletter publishers,
consumers, web hosting providers and ISPs.

But the tactics that have been used to combat the problem have caused more
problems for legitimate online businesses (especially small businesses)
than they have halted the spam juggernaut.

In a newly approved white paper entitled "Making Room for the Business Use
of Email", Michael Yost of MegaLists and I examine the problem and some of
the more unfortunate repercussions of current anti-spam techniques.  And we
propose an elegantly simple and technically feasible legislative solution
that has something for everybody.
